Are there any other attractions near Janki Kund?

Chitrakoot has a dense concentration of Ramayana-linked sites, and most of them can be covered in a single full day. Here is what you can explore near Janki Kund:

Ram Ghat (2 km from Janki Kund): The main pilgrimage ghat on the Mandakini, where boats carry devotees across the river and evening aartis are performed. The ghat is the central hub of Chitrakoot’s religious life. Plan to be here for the evening aarti if possible.

Sphatik Shila (between Janki Kund and Ram Ghat, about 1 km): A large flat rock on the riverbank where Lord Rama and Sita are believed to have rested. A small shrine marks the spot. Easy to visit on the walk between Janki Kund and Ram Ghat.

Hanuman Dhara (3 km from Ram Ghat): A natural spring that emerges from a hillside, believed to have been created by Lord Rama to cool Hanuman after he set Lanka on fire. The climb involves about 360 stone steps and takes 20–30 minutes. From the top, the views over Chitrakoot and the surrounding hills are excellent.

Gupt Godavari (18 km from Ram Ghat): Twin caves through which an underground stream flows, associated with Lord Rama’s court-in-exile. A slightly longer excursion — best combined with a half-day auto circuit of the outer sites.

Kamtanath Temple (Kamadgiri Hill, near the town centre): A temple to Lord Rama on a wooded hill that pilgrims circumambulate barefoot — the pradakshina is 5 km and takes about 1.5 hours. A deeply devotional experience.

Sati Anusuya Ashram (16 km from Chitrakoot town): The forest hermitage of the sage Atri and his wife Anusuya, set deep in the forest. Quieter and more meditative than the main ghats.

Suggested itinerary: Janki Kund at dawn → Sphatik Shila on the walk back → Ram Ghat by 8 AM → Kamadgiri circumambulation → lunch → Hanuman Dhara in the afternoon → Gupt Godavari (if time allows) → Ram Ghat evening aarti.
