Reaching the Sati Anusuya Temple from Chitrakoot town is straightforward, though the 16 km distance through forest roads means you need to plan your transport in advance.
From Ram Ghat / Chitrakoot town: Hire an auto-rickshaw from Ram Ghat or the main bus stand. The fare is ₹150–200 one-way, or you can negotiate a return trip with waiting time for around ₹350–400 total. Shared jeeps operate on this route and charge ₹40–60 per person — they depart when full from near the Chitrakoot bus stand. The road is metalled throughout and the journey takes 30–40 minutes.
By train: The nearest railway station is Chitrakoot Dham (Karwi), located about 11 km from Chitrakoot town and about 27 km from the Sati Anusuya Temple. From the station, take an auto to Chitrakoot town first (₹80–120) and then a separate auto or jeep onward to the ashram. Alternatively, negotiate a direct auto from the station to the ashram — the fare will be higher (around ₹250–300) but saves time.
Trains connect Karwi to Allahabad (Prayagraj): 2.5 hours; to Satna: 1 hour; and to Manikpur Junction where connections to Delhi and Mumbai are available.
By air: The nearest airport is Prayagraj (Allahabad), 128 km from Chitrakoot. Taxis from Prayagraj airport to Chitrakoot cost around ₹2,500–3,000 and take about 2.5 hours. Khajuraho Airport (175 km) is another option if you are combining Chitrakoot with Khajuraho.
By road from major cities:
Private vehicles can drive directly to the ashram parking area. The forested road from Chitrakoot to the ashram is in good condition and suitable for all types of vehicles.
