The sacred travel route of Char Dham, or the Four Abodes, is located in the Indian Himalayas. Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath, and Badrinath are the four holy places that make up this circuit.
Yamunotri is the place where the sacred Yamuna waterway begins, and it also features a temple dedicated to the goddess Yamuna. The Ganges is revered at the Gangotri sanctuary because it begins at the Gangotri Glacier.
The Kedarnath temple is one of India’s twelve Jyotirlingas, and the town of Kedarnath itself is revered as Lord Shiva’s spiritual home. The Badrinath temple is one of the four most sacred sites in Hinduism, and the town of Badrinath itself is revered as a place of worship for Vishnu.
When you arrive in Delhi meeting and assistance followed by a drive to Haridwar. On arrival at Haridwar check in at the hotel. Evening Visit Mansa Devi temple & Aarti at Har Ki Peri. Overnight stay at hotel. Haridwar: Haridwar, lying at the feet of Shiva`s hills, i.e., Shivaliks, in the Haridwar district of Uttaranchal Pradesh, is a doorway. Suryavanshi prince Bhagirathi performed penance here to salvage the souls of his ancestors who had perished due to the curse of sage Kapila.
The penance was answered, the river Ganga trickled forth from Lord Shiva`s locks, and its bountiful water revived the sixty thousand sons of King Sagara. In the tradition of Bhagirathi, devout Hindus stand in the sacred waters here, praying for the salvation of their departed elder.
Haridwar Railway Station, to board on tempo traveller and proceed to Barkot via Mussoorie. En route visit Kempty fall. Upon arrival check-in at the hotel, and the rest of the day is at leisure.
Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel at Barkot. No activities. Reach Barkot and have proper rest. Acclimatize your mind and body to start a trek to Yamnotri from JanakiChatti.
After breakfast proceeds to Yamunotri (38 km drive/ 2hrs and 05 km trek/ 3hrs one way), here one can cook rice by packing it in a cloth and dipping it in hot water of the hot kund. Pilgrims take this cooked rice home as “Prasad”. Here near the temple “Pooja” can be offered to Divya Shila, after taking a bath in Jamunabai Kund`s warm water and having “Darshan” of pious “Yamunaji”.
Later return to Barkot for an overnight stay. Drive to Uttarkashi. Visit Vishwanath Temple & Others. Check-in Hotel. Rest day at leisure. Night Halt. Uttarkashi is home to a number of ashrams and temples and also to the Nehru Institute of Mountaineering. The town’s name reflects its similarity to and location (north of) the city of Kashi (Varanasi).
Similar to Varanasi, the town of Uttarkashi is situated on the Ganges, lies next to a hill named Varun Parvat, on the confluence of two rivers Varuna and Asi, has a ghat called Manikarnika Ghat and has a temple dedicated to Shiva (Kashi Vishwanath Temple) in the centre of the town.
Vishwanath temple – Vishwanath temple is one of the oldest Shiva temples in Northern India. Re-constructed in 1857 by Maharani Khaneti Devi of Tehri State in the ancient architectural style. Overnight stay in Uttarkashi.
With a packed breakfast & post Tea/ Coffee leave for Gangotri early in the morning. offering prayers & pooja darshan, later drive back to Ganganani, en route visit Ganganani. Gangotri: Gangotri temple is 18th Century temple dedicated to Goddess Ganga.
It is located near a sacred stone where King Bhagirath worshipped Lord Shiva Ganga and is believed to have touched earth at this spot. Accordingly to another legend, Pandavas performed the great “Deva Yagna” here to tone the death of their kinsmen in the epic battle of Mahabharata.
The temple is an exquisite 20 ft. high structure made of white granite. Gangnani: Further up on the way to Gangotri, is the hot water spring at Gangnani, where one can have a refreshing bath in the kund called Rishikund. Overnight stay in Uttarkashi.
Leave very early in the morning with a packed breakfast for an almost day-long drive to Rudraprayag. On your drive, you would pass through Ganga giving way to Tehri Dam (The Hydro Electric Project).
Overnight stay at the hotel at Rudraprayag. Rituals & Activities: Visit of Tehri Dam, Ganga Aarti in Rudraprayag & Sangam Darshan (Merge of Alaknanda & Mandakini). Overnight Stay in Sitapur.
The road from Rudraprayag to Guptkashi / Phata is good for small/light vehicles but the onward road to Gaurikund is in bad condition, the 14 km old trek route along the river Mandakini from Gaurikund toRambara and then to Sri Kedarnath has washed away at many places and a new trek is under construction, this new route is approx. 17 km long climbing up to 13000 ft. and then coming down to Sri Kedarnath at 11760 ft., it is not possible to travel this distance in one day, one night stop will be required in both directions and it is not certain if Govt. will allow the pilgrims to have a night stay at Sri Kedarnath, where the yatris will spend the night.
Halt & rest. (Today whole day for rest) and leisure time for local S/S. Night Stay in Rudraprayag.
Morning after breakfast proceed to Badrinath via Joshimath, (Narsimha Temple, Shankaracharya Math) Badrinath. Evening Darshan & Pooja at Badrinath temple. Overnight stay at Badrinath.

View of Vishnu Prayag, Nandprayag, and Karnprayag while returning back to Rudraprayag.
Badrinath: Cradled in the twin Mountain ranges of Nar and Narayan is the holiest of the four main shrines.
Early morning, pilgrims after having a bath in the Taptkund have the Darshan of Badrivishal. Brahamakapal is significant for Pind dan Shraddh of ancestors (Pitrus). There is other interesting sightseeing spot like Mana, Vyas Gufa, Maatamoorti, Charanpaduka, Bhimkund and the “Mukh” of the Saraswati River. Just within the three kms of Badrinath Ji.
Later drive back to Rudraprayag via Joshimath. Check-in Hotel. Overnight stay. Joshimath is situated on the slopes above the confluence of the rivers Alaknanda and Dhauliganga. Of the four `Maths` established by Adi Shankaracharya, Joshimath is the winter seat of Badrinath.
The idol is brought down to Joshimath and installed in the temple for people to worship. There are many other temples in the township.
Drive to Haridwar en route and visit Rishikesh Sight Seeing. Rishikesh, the `place of sages` is a celebrated spiritual town on the bank of Ganga and is surrounded by the Shivalik range of the Himalayas on three sides. It is said that when Raibhya Rishi did hard penances, God appeared by the name of Hrishikesh ” and this area hence firth came to be known as Rishikesh.
Drive back to Delhi. On arrival in Delhi, transfer to Railway Station / Airport. Tour Terminate.
