Introduction
Ujjain (Ujjaini) is a large city in Madhya Pradesh, India, located on the banks of the Shipra River . It is an extremely old city. It was the capital of the great emperor Vikramaditya’s reign. Ujjain is also known as Kalidas’ city. Every 12 years, the Simhastha Mahakumbh Mela is held here. This city is home to Mahakal, one of Lord Shiva’s 12 Jyotirlingas. Indore, Madhya Pradesh’s largest city, is 45 kilometres from Ujjain. Avantika, Ujjayini, Kanakshranga, and other old names for Ujjain exist. Ujjain is known for its temples. There are numerous pilgrimage sites in this area.
Omkareshwar was also known as the pilgrimage city Omkar-Mandhata in ancient times, according to tradition. The Omkareshwar temple has been established atop the hill in the shape of Om since King Mandhata did meditation for the benefit and safety of his people and requested a favour from Lord Shiva to be seated here.
Day 1- Indore--Ujjain
Welcome to Indore. When you arrive at Indore Airport/Railway Station, a representative greets you and transfers you to Ujjain. One of the holiest cities for Hindus and the venue of the Kumbh Mela. The tour begins at Mahakaleshwar temple, one of Lord Shiva’s 12 Jyotirlingas. After that, go to IskonTemple, Shakti Peeth, Harsiddhi Temple, Sandipani Ashram, Bade Ganesh Ka Mandir and Ram Ghat, among other places. The main attraction of a trip to Ujjain is to attend the Mahakaleshwar temple’s Bhasm arti. This art form is in high demand, thus bookings are required. At the temple, arti is performed in the morning and evening. Overnight rest at hotel.
Day 2- Ujjain--Omkareshwar--Maheshwar
After breakfast, travel to Omkareshwar, one of Lord Shiva’s 12 Jyotirlingas. It is situated on the Narmada River’s bank. After Darshan, take a boat ride on the Narmada River on a pay-as-you-go basis, then drive to Maheshwar and see Rajarajeshwara Temple, a famous, renowned, and magnificient temple with 11 Akhanda Jyothi Deepas – eternal flame lamps that shine continually. Stay in the hotel for the night.
Day 3- Omkareshwar--Ujjain--Indore
With your return to Indore, the journey comes to a close. Breakfast will be supplied in the morning, and your departure will be scheduled.
