Introduction

Haridwar is an old town and one of Hindus’ major pilgrimage sites. It is in the Uttarakhand district of Haridwar. After 157 km flowing in Haridwar, the holy river Ganga enters the Indo-Ghetti plane. This gave the town their former name Gangadwara, meaning literally ‘The Ganga Gateway’. Many Hindus regard Haridwar as one of the seven holiest locations.Hari is also Lord Vishnu’s name and Haridwar literally refers to “Lord Vishnu’s gateway.” It is accurate in that one needs to begin a journey from Haridwar in order to visit Badrinath, a shrine of Vishnu.

Day 1- Delhi--Haridwar

Drive to Haridwar in the morning. When you arrive in Haridwar, check into your hotel. Later, we'll take you on a Haridwar sightseeing tour. Mansa Devi temple, Chandi Devi temple, Maya Devi temple, Daksha Mahadev temple, Sapta Rishi temple, and Ramanand ashram are among the ashrams and temples to visit. Day 2- Haridwar--Rishikesh

After breakfast, drive to Rishikesh and have a scenic tour of the city, stopping at Lakshman Jhula, Ram Jhula, and Gita Bhawan. In the evening, attend the Ganga Aarti at Parmarth Niketan. Return to Haridwar for dinner and an overnight stay at the hotel. Rishikesh is 24 kms away. Located in the lower Himalayas, it is surrounded on three sides by magnificent beauty of the hills, with the Holy Ganga flowing through it. The entire location is regarded sacred since it is thought that meditating at this location leads to salvation. Along the Ganges River, there are numerous temples, some ancient and some recent. Rishikesh is significant not only as a pilgrimage site linked to the Ramayana, but also as the location of several important centres of Hindu religious thinking and spirituality, as well as a world-class yoga institution. There are numerous ashrams and Yoga institutes in this area.
